Man Utd is on the right track... to five trophies
In Carling Cup, United defeated Tottenham Hotspur (last year Champions) in the Final on 1-Mar at Wembley. Sir Alex Ferguison sent the young lads to the starting line up - Foster, Gibson, Welback, Evans, Nani. The game was not resoluted in 12o min, ending up with penalty shoot-out. United took the shots so confidently (Giggs, Ronaldo, Tevez, Anderson were all netted). With Ben Foster's superb save to Jamie O'Hara's shot and David Bentley's miss target, United won its 2nd trophy of this season, after the FIFA Cup World Cup in Japan.
In FA Cup, United defeated Fulham by 4-0 easily in sixth round. Tevez found the net twice in 1st half - both goals were wonderful. (How could Man Utd give him up?) United have been drawn against Everton in the semi-finals at Wembley. It is in United's favour as they wouldn't have to face Chelsea or Arsenal until the final.
In UEFA Champions league, they will play the 2nd leg against Inter Milan at Old Trafford. With United's current form, winning at the home soil is inevitable. Drawing at San Siro two weeks ago was a bit unlucky. Inter Milan is not that strong in attacking, they can hardly find a goal at OT with Vidic's back. The only matter is if United's strikers can score.
In Premier league, United could not be in a better position. The 11 winning run since mid Dec put them 7 pts clear at the league ahead of Chelsea and Liverpool, with an additional game in hand. They have only 11 league games left, all difficult ones will be played at home. If United wins Liverpool in coming Sat, it is very likely that United would get its 11th Premier league champions.
Erva said after the FA cup game, "We're not thinking about winning five trophies," he told MUTV. "None of the players are talking about this – it's just the media."
"We have to concentrate on every game and when you pull on the Manchester United shirt you have to give your best. That's the spirit of Manchester United and with that spirit we can go far and reach the end of our mission".
